This project was an exploration of the material: bubble and the method: creating and capturing them. I gathered, built and assembled this bubble blowing "bot" as an exploration of this process. I lasercut and assembled the red acrylic bubble ring and trough, programmed the servo motor and ran it with Arduino, and powered the DC 12V fan with an AC Adapter.

Pushing the my pixel exploration of the virtual translation of memories and connections based on abstraction, the Pixel Pop series was born. Image abstractions not created manually, but instead by translating a visual idea into a set of rules then implementing it in the programming language, Processing 2.0. Experiments used open source (and Apache-licensed) code from the awesome book Generative Design.

Project started with virtual code, then printed digital translation/abstracted onto physical fabric and finally was sewn onto handmade perfectly sized pockets for iPhone 4, 4s and 5 models.

How do we translate our memories, connections and digital selves back and forth between our 3D physical world and the virtual realm? These pixel explorations are studies of that abstraction based on proximity and virtual relationships between my family and I.

These curiosities have developed into an iPhone product line, a poster series and it continues to develop into new forms exploring this core concept.

Image abstractions not created manually, but instead by translating a visual idea into a set of rules then implementing it in the programming language, Processing 2.0. Experiments used open source (and Apache-licensed) code from the awesome book Generative Design.

This simple but active format for the Harvard Art Museum's newsletter was designed to lead the viewer through the folded document. Pairing a modern serif, Kievt, with a workhorse condensed sans, in Trade Gothic kept the style contemporary and fresh. Extreme image cut on paste on cover was inspired by preliminary collage exercises, these covers give a fresh look to the traditional art featured in the museums at Harvard.

The Survivalist Essential Kit was created for my alter ego persona, Suri A. Preppers. Channeling her design aesthetic, I crafted and curated a 14-essentials item kit along with a booklet, poster and logo stamp for those eager to make the leap.

Traditional "peep shows" can be traced back to early times as a wooden box with a hole(s) containing a set of pictures which the show-man could set into a viewing position by pulling a corresponding string. Channeling this method, I wrote Processing code that generated animations based on my mouse x-position using my scanned imagery. Then finally translated these animations into mini flip books.
